About
Chris Greybe is an award winning freelance Director, Editor and Illustrator.
Chris has directed a number of short films, TV Idents, Virals and music Promo’s. He has also edited and graded a number of TV shows for the BBC. Alongside his directing and editing work Chris has produced a number of feature film storyboards, magazine illustrations and comic books.
â—ŠEarly Years
Chris was born in Cape Town, South Africa. He studied at the Johannesburg National School of the Arts and completed his High School education in South Africa. Chris then moved to the UK in 1998 where he completed an illustration course from the Joe Kubert School of comic book art and went on to gain a B.A in Film & Animation as Newport university.
After graduating Chris started working in the Film and TV industry with his brother Thom Greybe. They produced and directed over 25 Animated and Live action Idents for the middle eastern broadcaster Smash TV.

Chris then moved to London where he worked as Senior Editor at the corporate video company Rewind Films.
He then moved to Film38 were he edited and produced Storyboards for a number of music videos and advertisements. After this Chris joined Factory Media were he ran the post production department for their online TV station Mpora TV. He directed and edited a number of  virals for clients like Nike 6.0, Rip Curl, and Vans. He also self-shot and directed a number of video interviews for Factory Media’s various publications and client events.
Chris then went to work for the BBC as a workflow consultant where he managed a number of factual BBC productions. He also performed quality control and repairs on a number of online and grades for shows like The Culture Show, Mark Lawson, and Horizon. Chris also trained BBC staff on FCP and Colour grading.
◊Independent Film
During his working career Chris has written, produced and directed a number of short films each growing in budget. Working with his brother Thom, The Greybe Brothers have written and directed 5 short films, one of which was the 2010 NPA Trailermade winner and was shot at Pinewood studios and screened at the 2010 Cannes film festival. He has also written two feature film scripts currently seeking funding.
